June 2024 - June 2024Yann Gonzalez (born 1977 in Nice) is a filmmaker and producer. He directed several short films before turning to full-length features with "You and the Night" which premiered at Cannes’ Critic’s week in 2013 and "Knife+Heart" which competed for the Palme d’Or in 2018. He also writes lyrics for his brother’s band "M83".
During his residency at the MQ, Yann Gonzalez is cowriting - with Judith Sonnet, a horror novelist - his first english language feature film: it’s a project called "Spook", a mash-up of horror and comedy about a band of mavericks shooting a film in a haunted castle full of ghosts and monsters.
