She is the co-curator of Kinography open archive, an analyst at the Cedos think tank, and a former programmer at the Kyiv International Short Film Festival for the experimental, feminist, and queer film sections. Her research interests include cultural infrastructures, urban development, and grassroots activism. For the 19th festival edition of Vienna Shorts, Olena curates a program about displacement and migration.

The research project about the 'kinofication' process in Ukraine and the transformation of film theater networks after 1991. The project is being implemented by Occupy Kyiv Cinemas activist initiative in cooperation with Cultural Geographies NGO with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (2021). It is an open archive consisting of a map and research materials related to film theaters built in Ukraine during the Soviet period.
