Finn Job (*1995 in Hanover) has lived in Berlin since 2014, where he temporarily studied German literature, philosophy, comparative literature, art history and art studies and now lives as an intellectual autodidact and writer in the southwest of the city. He has worked as an editor, as a bartender in several techno clubs, as an ice cream vendor and, until the end of 2022, as a waiter in the Joseph-Roth-Diele. Today, Job writes for the magazine Cicero and the Berliner Zeitung. His first novel Hinterher was published by Klaus Wagenbach in August 2022 and was named book of the month by Schweizer Monat. It has also received numerous positive reviews, including in the taz, Deutschlandfunk and Die Presse.

Project info

During his residency at MQ, Finn Job will be working on his second novel. For this, a play in prose, which he is writing under the working title Damenschach, Job mixes elements of commedia dell'arte with the means of modern storytelling, 19th century doppelganger literature, the grotesque and screwball comedy. Five characters meet at a dinner party in a remote villa in the Vienna Woods and discuss the hot topics of the present.
