November 2024 - December 2024Finesa Peja (born 2002, Prishtina, Kosovo), from a young age, has always participated in numerous art related projects, from making murals for UNICEF Kosovo to indulging in local art projects for her school.
Her passion for animation started after completing the Animation Academy in her hometown, curated by the animation festival Anibar, located in Peja, Kosovo. She also was able to work as a tutor in said festival, where she taught kids and pre- teens stop- motion animation.
Peja finished her bachelor's studies in- LISAA - L'Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués, located in Paris, France.
From there, she proceeded to work as a character animator for a local animation studio called Flammorum, where she is able to create short films and animated projects dedicated to her culture and heritage in Kosovo.
Finesa Peja is fellowship holder of the "Capacity Building Programme" launched by BMKOES for cultural managers from Kosovo. The "Cultural Work Trainee Programme Kosovo-Austria" was initiated and financed by the Austrian Ministry of Culture BMKOES. Since 2023, selected cultural workers have had the opportunity to work at Austrian institutions/projects. Finesa Peja was selected for a two-month internship at Tricky Women, the organizers of the festival of the same name, where she will work directly in the festival team.
