Arrita Katona (b. 1999, Gjakova, Kosovo) is a young artist and a passionate cultural enthusiast with a keen eye for design and a heart committed to inspiring artistic expression. Arrita pursued a degree in Graphic Design, University of Prishtina.
Working with media platforms like Kosovo 2.0 and Service 95, along with The World Press Photo, has refined her ability to amplify voices and cultivate digital stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
She actively engages with the contemporary art scene, exploring themes such as privacy and gender perspectives. Her ideas are conveyed through various mediums including installations and photography. Attended courses at Stacion - Center for Contemporary Art, Foundation 17's Infrared Residency, and the Europe House's Notes: Images exhibition.

Project info

Arrita Katona is fellowship holder of the "Capacity Building Programme" launched by BMKOES for cultural managers from Kosovo. The "Cultural Work Trainee Programme Kosovo-Austria" was launched on the initiative and with funding from the Austrian Ministry of Culture BMKOES. Since 2023, selected cultural workers have had the opportunity to work on selected institutions/projects.
Katona will have the opportunity to complete a two-month internship at Vienna Contemporary. During her residency at the MQ, the artist wants to fully immerse herself in Vienna's vibrant cultural milieu and explore the city's diverse art scene.
