September 2024 - October 2024Anton Tyzenhauz (born 1997) graduated from the Gymnasium-College of Arts named I. O. Akhremchik in Minsk. In 2022 he graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and currently lives in Minsk, Belarus. He has been participating in youth and group exhibitions since 2017. His first creative works were created during his studies at the Belarusian Academy as a reaction to the conservatism and restrictions of the academic environment. By experimenting with different approaches to painting, he found his own creative expression. In his paintings, the artist moves equally between lively depiction and conceptual art. With high-contrast images, bright colours, childhood memories and random objects, he creates a visual carousel that pulls observers out of the usual flow of life.
During his residency at MQ, Anton Tyzenhauz will continue to pursue painting. In recent years, he has been intensively involved with ‘simple things’. He appreciates looking at everyday objects and revealing their deeper meanings. He often chooses children's toys or random objects from his immediate surroundings as his motifs. Tyzenhauz expresses his thoughts and impressions on canvas by experimenting with different techniques and materials. He looks forward to working in a new cultural environment, exploring the local artistic context and experiencing a productive, mutually enriching response.
