I would be entering the final development stage of my first feature film called 'Alfa' and will be using my residence time to finish the script.
'Alfa' is a drama about one woman's desire to preserve her status quo and her need to destroy the emotional chains holding her onto it, in order to move on.
It tells the story of Azra (41) and her daughter Sara (17) who, ten years after arriving from Bosnia in 1995, still live in the place of their first refuge - Alfa, a drug rehabilitation center set in a desolate and bleak countryside of Central Italy. Now that the commune is facing closure, her husband in Bosnia demands she finally returns for the divorce, and her daughter Sara is starting to cutting strings with her - Azra cannot but try to hold on to the only life she managed to built for herself and her teenage daughter. However she soon finds out that that same life is a chain she will have to destroy to break free from.
