FASHIONSHOW & LECTURE DURING MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK.16
PROJECT: VIENNESE MELODY
This fashion set draws inspiration from Mozart’s symphony to portray Vienna as a city of music and a place where Mozart, one of the greatest musicians in the world, used to live.
This motif is reflected in the accessories as well as printed fabric used in this fashion set which has been specially designed to resemble musical notes.
My Experiences from artist in residence program
I take great pride in being selected by Combinat as one of the artists in this program. Apart from valuable experiences, I’ve also gained great inspiration from various things, whether it be architecture, museums, culture or people. From my point of view, it’s necessary for an artist to move outside of his / her comfort zone and become vulnerable within the context of an unfamiliar culture and people who don’t speak the same language. The opportunity to grow new ears, sharpen the eyes, and learn difficult to speak vowels is an invaluable experience for any artist. I spent my first week to visit museums and to make clothes for my show in the Fashion Week. In the second week, I welcomed a group of graduated students from London and a group of teachers from Germany who came to visit my studio to see what an artist do in the studio. The third week was the period of my workshop for fashion students in Vienna in which I talked about fashion and trends followed by Q&A session. I spent my last week talking to Maria, Combinat, about our fashion show next year. Additionally, I joined Vienna Contemporary and International Art Fair and watched works from other artists, which truly inspired me.
