July 2012 in Vienna was for me inspiring and creative.
I worked to develop new branches of my two projects: SKILIFT and Geometry Strikes Back.
Geometry Strikes Back
I developed new installation visuals and designed interactivity for them, which I will be implementing in January 2013.
I worked with paper, which is one of my favorite materials, and it was an excellent environment for such a work. I had enough space to be able to install parts of my work and to understand how they work in the space and what would be the best interaction between different parts of the installation.
My idea was to keep the "faceless" image of different "characters", at the same time
developing each of them as separate individuals.
This "character" part of the installation Geometry Strikes Back is dealing with identity and/or uniformity: how small differences are really small. I wanted to show it inside one character, and that one character is/might become many characters, and ends up as one the same character again.
The process was intriguing and full of surprises, what is for me one of the most important and exciting elements in my artistic work.
SKILIFT
During the Artist-in-Residence program at quartier21 in Vienna I concentrated on the personal dimension of the SKILIFT project, analyzed different visual elements, and developed a basic plan for the later expositions of the work.
I wrote a text that explained my personal attitude and roots of the SKILIFT, and arranged all text written until now into one serial that explains different aspects of SKILIFT: artistic, personal, functional, visual, interactive, as enterprise, social, “political”, technical…
The idea for the visual presentation of the future exposition emerged as well. I drew the basic plan of arrangements for the next exposition in 2013.
